We're Simon and Davida Hadden.
We've been involved one way or another in the creative leisure market for over 20 years. We set up the Creative World store in 1996 with the help of a few friends and an immense amount of blood stress and tears. The big idea was to combine the many creative activities under one roof - a feat we soon discovered was much easier said than done. With so many diverse products to choose from, the hard reality was that we had to apply a ruthless selection process, and over the years we have developed a unique tried-and-tested mix of products together with exceptionally good working relationships with our many suppliers.
Last year we were lucky enough to have over 85,000 customers and 160,000 visitors to the store making it one of the busiest in the UK.
This is our first tentative dip in to the online market. We realise that we can't possibly replicate our huge in-store product range and provide a good service - so this is our attempt to offer a range of products that we find unusual and stimulating, they are tried and tested and hopefully pretty unique. They're high quality and represent exceptional value for money - if they weren't the ideas simply wouldn't work and we would go hungry.
The range of uses of creative materials constantly amazes us. People are using and discovering (or re-discovering) creative activities in all kinds of incredible ways. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, student or stressed-out professional, the great joy of a creative activity is so uplifting. The reward is saying 'wow that feels good let's have another go'! So, with this project we are working closely with our suppliers to offer a dynamic range of products constantly changing and always offering something new, and hopefully worth coming back to.
Our community section (coming soon) will allow you to become involved and part of this exciting arena. Put in your pennies worth and watch it happen.
The website has been developed so that we can update details on an minute-by-minute basis (if we fancied) allowing us to bring the latest offers and products immediately they become available. The site also includes an RSS subscription thingy which, if you like, will enable you to be informed of any new products and projects the moment that they are loaded on to the site. This is very much a work in progress and you will see new features and sections added as and when they are developed. Worth a try when you're bored.
Oh yes and we are lucky have a whole bunch of wonderful staff who keep the whole business on track.
