A reason to smile: We’re down to the final three!
We’re absolutely delighted that Lancashire’s – Let’s Get Lancashire Brushing has made it to the final three in the Community Health Development category at the 2026 Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Health & Wellbeing Awards!
This fantastic achievement celebrates a great collaboration between Creativeworld Health and Lancashire County Council, united by a shared ambition to improve children’s oral health and help families build healthier brushing habits from the very start.
For us, what makes this initiative particularly special is the journey behind it. This wasn’t a campaign developed in isolation. It began with insight, research and, most importantly, listening to families.
Through conversations, interviews and meetings in settings attended by parents of infants, we explored the real-life experiences, behaviours and challenges that shape early childhood oral health. These insights helped inform a campaign designed around the needs of families, ensuring their voices played a meaningful role in shaping both the approach and the creative.
From those early conversations through to campaign development, creative delivery, launch and distribution, families remained at the heart of the initiative. The aim was not simply to communicate a message, but to create something relevant, accessible and practical that could reach the communities where support was needed most.
And importantly, the first phase began to demonstrate impact almost immediately, providing encouraging early evidence of the value of combining meaningful engagement, evidence-led thinking and targeted delivery.
“ We’re so proud that Let’s Get Lancashire Brushing has made it all the way to the final three. This recognition means a great deal because it reflects the effort and collaboration behind the campaign, from the initial insight and research, through conversations and interviews with parents and families, to developing the creative and bringing the campaign to life.
“It’s been particularly important to ensure that families weren’t just part of the research at the beginning, but were considered throughout the campaign’s development, launch and distribution. We’ve been able to turn those insights into targeted activity designed to reach the families and communities who needed it most. Seeing the early impact of that work makes reaching the final three even more rewarding.”
In November, David and Olivia will be heading to London on behalf of Creativeworld Health to attend the awards ceremony, where we’ll discover whether the campaign takes home the national award.
Whatever the result, reaching the final three is a wonderful milestone and a testament to the strength of this partnership, the commitment of everyone involved and the importance of putting families at the heart of public health campaigns.
Here’s to healthier smiles, stronger collaboration and giving every child the best possible start for a lifetime of healthy teeth!
