Taking mental health conversations into the workplace
This week, our team has been out and about across Lancashire and South Cumbria, delivering packs of marketing materials on behalf of Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB to help introduce a new BSI standard into workplaces.
From Barrow and Lancaster to Preston, Pendle and beyond, we’ve been having face-to-face conversations with staff, explaining what the standard means, why it matters and how organisations can pledge their commitment to improving mental health support at work.
Our focus has been on reaching workplaces where mental health can be harder to talk about, particularly male-dominated industries such as construction and manufacturing, alongside GP practices. By identifying 50 priority organisations, we’re helping take these conversations directly to the people and workplaces where they can make a real difference.
It’s about more than delivering a pack. It’s about starting conversations, breaking down stigma and encouraging employers to create environments where people feel able to speak up and access support when they need it.
A big part of making change happen is meeting people where they are, giving them the right information and helping them take that first step.
Because better mental health support at work starts with a conversation.
